Important Instructions

  • US RESIDENTS ONLY: To return to the US you’ll need to take a COVID-19 test the day before your entry date. Don’t waste time looking for a test lab in Zambia.   • The e-Visa Approval Letter is valid for 90 days after issued. You can enter Zambia at any time within this period.

  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months following your listed arrival date.

  • A proof of accommodation is required to obtain the travel document. The dates in this document MUST match the travel dates selected in the application. This is a requirement that is demanded by the government in order to issue the travel document.

  • Failure to enter within this period renders your e-Visa Approval Letter invalid, and thus you will have to apply again.

  • Single Entry, Double Entry and Multiple Entry visas are valid for 90 days after issued, with the exception of nationals from the United States of America, for whom multiple entry visas have a validity of 3 years (on a reciprocal basis).

  • You can ONLY use the visa approval letter these 3 airports:

    • Kenneth Kaunda International Airport – Lusaka
    • Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport – Livingstone
    • Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport - Ndola

The cost of the Zambia e-Visa varies depending on the number of entries you choose. A Single Entry e-Visa costs USD 52.00, the Double Entry e-Visa costs USD 82.00 while Multiple Entry e-Visa costs USD 152.00. Additionally, there is a service fee of USD 25.00 for standard processing. For rush and super rush processing, the service fee is USD 65.00 and USD 85.00 respectively.

In Zambia, there is no specific dress code, but you will not see women wearing very tight or short skirts on the street. If you want to avoid glances, you should probably do the same. Zambia also has a nightlife that you can enjoy. You can go to bars and have a few drinks. There are a lot of drunks on the street, unfortunately, which is why you should never go to a bar alone as a woman. Also, if you are a man, you should probably know that if you offer a drink to a woman, it means that you proposition sex. It is up to you whether or not you mean it. To be honest, the best part of Zambia is the animals. There is no other valid reason why anyone would go there. The lodges in the middle of nowhere are stunning, and you will feel isolated. But that is a good feeling. Although you should be careful at night when you use the bathroom. An angry hippo can come out of nowhere, and things can end up badly.
