Learn more about Mongolia Tourism
Mongolia is an Asian nation bordered by Russia and China, and it is well-known for its rugged hills, vast fields, and nomadic culture. It is also a great destination for travelers who want to experience untouched landscapes and learn more about Mongolia’s peculiar history.
Traveling to this country is a must if you’re looking for an exotic but charming country. Besides, the Mongolia eVisa will be launched very soon, meaning that you will probably be among the nationalities that can apply for it. The Mongolia eVisa is an upcoming online visa that will allow you to visit Mongolia for a short-term visit.
Best of all, the Mongolia eVisa will be available at iVisa.com, so you will be able to apply for it within a few minutes.
While you get ready to apply for the Mongolia eVisa, we recommend you consider the following options to explore Mongolia to the fullest.
Mongolia was part of the Soviet Union for most of the 20th century. Nowadays, it is a young democracy with a prosperous economy based on agriculture, tourism, and mining. Part of its economy is now improving tourist facilities, including an international airport near Ulaanbaatar, the capital city.
Visas are easy to get, and as we mentioned before, the government is working hard to offer the Mongolia eVisa very soon, meaning that a lot of travelers won’t have to visit consulates or embassies to visit Mongolia. This country is doing its best to improve tourism every day, which is why you shouldn’t overlook it when planning a trip to Asia.
Mongolia welcomes travelers from all around the world, especially those with a strong independent burst that delight in making their way.
Locals are very aware of the unique beauty their country has. That’s why they can easily start gushing about the beautiful countryside, vast steppes, clear lagoons, and rugged mountains. Some land is so remote that you could drive a full day and probably see no signs of other human beings. In other words, this country has space for true wilderness, something that many people find so interesting. If you’re a fan of solitude and wilderness, then Mongolia won’t disappoint you.
One of the best places to start a unique adventure here is Amarbayasgalant Khiid. It is a Buddhist monastery located in Selenge and one place that you probably won’t forget once you enter it. From the wooden beams coated in bird droppings and the greenery entrances to the scurrying marmots and some jackdaws ruling the place, the exterior of this palace complex is a perfect place to relax. It is also a perfect spot to enjoy a lost-in-time vibe, especially with the palace's architecture.
The temple's interior is more vigorous and vibrant, especially its huge banners painted in vibrant colors. In this place, hundreds of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, and guardian deities remain to watch travelers and resident lamas.
You can continue your travel crossing with the Karakorum; an ancient city set deep between the greenish hills of the Orkhon Valley. This city is nowadays a place full of myths and legends.
The Karakorum is the perfect spot to walk in the footsteps of totemic structures like the famous Genghis Khan and see many Buddhist monasteries next to impressive Yuan Dynasty shrines.
Nature is an important matter in Mongolia’s culture. That’s why you should visit places like Lake Khovsgol if you have the chance. This crystal-clear lake hides between the shale peaks and craggy hills of the Sayan Mountains. Besides, Lake Khovsgol is the second-largest body of water in the entire country.
Its grassy banks rise beautifully to impress anyone, and it is often peppered with wind-blasted pine trees. Sometimes it gives way to cobblestone coves where villagers unwind during summertime. Take into account that this whole site is now encompassed by a national park, which was created to protect the waters in the area.
If you’re a big fan of Buddhist monasteries and wish to continue with this type of travel (something like cultural travel), then do not forget to visit Ongiin Khiid, commonly referred to as Ongi Monastery. It is the collective name for the ruins of two monasteries that face each other through the Ongi River in Saikhan-Ovoo state. These monasteries are Barlim (located on the north bank of the river) and Khutagt (located on the south bank).
The bend in the Ongi river marks the remains of these monasteries that are considered today one of the most impressive buildings in Mongolia. Bari Lam Khiid (Barlim) was built in 1810, while Khutagt Lam Khiid was built in 1760. This place was formerly one of the most prominent shrines in the country and home to thousands of monks.
Places like Ongiin Khiid and Amarbayasgalant Khiid might be impressive, but do not forget to continue exploring nature in Mongolia, especially with parks like the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. It is a vast region that rises like a bulwark against the connection of China, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
This place bears the way to Siberia and snow-covered Xinjiang with over five rocky peaks that rise above 4,000 meters above sea level (as you can guess, these mountains are extremely high). This park is also very popular for its antique petroglyphs as well as its curious Turkic sculptures.
Orkhon Valley is another natural place that you shouldn’t miss once you’re in Mongolia. It was home to the great Khans and also the center of power that fueled the offensive of the Mongol Horde across Europe and Asia. This place is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage list because it celebrates the deeper customs of the nomad lifestyle. Orkhon is a major attraction not only because of its historical value but also because of its impressive natural beauty, especially with its frozen waterfalls and green fields.
Mongolia is a place like no other, and to this day, it is still the land of the great Khans. Luckily, you’re just one click away from knowing it, thanks to the constant advances to launch the Mongolia eVisa very soon.
Be aware that the Mongolia eVisa will be an easy-to-get document compared to other travel documents. The Mongolia eVisa will be processed online, meaning that you won’t need too many things to apply for it. With your passport and your email, you will be one step closer to visiting Mongolia, and all that because of the Mongolia eVisa system.
We invite you to stay alert to our website to know exactly what’s necessary to apply for the Mongolia eVisa and see if you need it. Remember that some countries are visa-exempt, and you might be one of those lucky ones!
