Learn More: ESTA
THE UNITED STATES IS OPEN: The USA re-opened for tourism on 8 November 2021.
The US Electronic System for Travel Authorization ("ESTA") allows qualifying nationalities to travel to the USA for tourism or business purposes without obtaining a US visa. Visitors under the ESTA program may enter by air or sea. The ESTA document must be obtained online prior to departure. If your ESTA is approved, it is valid for 2 years after issued, allows a maximum stay of 90 days Per Entry, and allows Multiple Entry.
WHO CAN ENTER THE US WITH THIS DOCUMENT
The USA is open for tourism to fully vaccinated international travelers from around the world. Travelers must also present a negative COVID-19 test result to enter the country.
To check if you qualify for the US ESTA, get started on your application now.
OBTAIN THE US ESTA VISA
To apply for the ESTA with iVisa.com, you’ll be asked to provide some personal information and upload a scan of your valid passport. You won’t need a negative coronavirus test to get the ESTA, however all travelers must present a negative test result to enter the country. Check the testing FAQ below to find out more.
DISPLAY THE DOCUMENT
After submitting your application, you will receive your ESTA in your email inbox once your application has been approved. Print out and bring a physical copy of the document on your trip as well as saving a copy to your electronic device. The form must be presented to the US immigration authorities on arrival.
To find out about quarantine rules upon entering the United States, read the FAQs below.
Required Documents to Apply
Passport Personal Details Scan (if applicable)
You are required to apply for ESTA if you intend to enter the United States by air or sea, under the Visa Waiver Program. However, an ESTA is not required if you are entering by land.
The ESTA is valid for up to 2 years after issued or until the traveler’s passport expires, whichever comes first.
Valid for multiple entries into the U.S. or for multiple connections through the U.S.
Traveler's passports should be valid for at least 6 months after the date of their visit. This does not apply to US citizens.
If your passport was issued on or after 26th October 2005 it must have a digitally applied photograph.
Travelers aged 2 years and older must present a negative pre-departure test result prior to boarding the flight to US.
If your ESTA expires while in the US it will not affect your departure.
You will be able to change any itinerary on a current Travel Authorization. ESTA is designed so that you can update a valid Travel Authorization. It is not necessary to have a flight booking or hotel reservation to initially apply for a Travel Authorization.
Travelers must obtain a new ESTA authorization if they are issued with a new passport, or changes their name, gender, or country of citizenship.
It's also required to have:
A valid electronic passport with a digital chip containing bio-metric info
Credit/debit card for payment
NOTE: Receiving ESTA authorization does not mean you may stay in the U.S. for 2 years after issued. It only allows you to travel to the U.S. under the terms of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a COVID vaccine or vaccination certificate to enter the United States?
Yes, the United States has been taking steps to restore travel within its borders and now all non-citizen air travelers aged 18 and over traveling to the United States need to display a COVID vaccination certificate.
Accepted vaccines are Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca/Covishield, Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
The last dose must have been received at least 14 days before traveling.
Do I need a negative coronavirus test to get the US ESTA?
- COVID test prior to arrival: PCR within 24 hours of departure to the US, regardless of vaccination status or nationality.
- COVID test exemptions: Children under 2 and travelers with proof of recovery from COVID-19 within 90 days are exempt.
Will I have to quarantine upon arrival in the US?
- Quarantine requirements: There are no mandatory quarantine requirements, however 7-10 days self-isolation is recommended.
- Check individual states for local quarantine requirements.
What is the US ESTA?
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an automated system that assists in determining eligibility to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This allows travelers to enter the US without obtaining a visa. Upon completion of an ESTA application, a traveler is notified of his or her eligibility to travel to the United States under the VWP. If your ESTA application is approved, you will be able to enter the US for a stay of 90 days maximum and enter multiple times. Your ESTA will remain valid for 2 years.
Please note that due to coronavirus travel restrictions, currently travelers in possession of US visas or ESTAs are not allowed to enter the US if they have transitted through or stayed in the following countries during the 14 days prior to their arrival: China, Iran, the European Schengen area, United Kingdom, Ireland, or Brazil. For specific exemptions and more information see the US government website.
What is the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)?
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) is administered by the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) and enables eligible citizens or nationals of designated countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business (for stays of up to 90 days) without first obtaining a visa.
What is the cost to obtain a US ESTA?
The base cost for the US ESTA is USD 14.00. When you apply for iVisa.com, you get a full service that includes expert review of your application to minimize the chance you made any errors. For this, we charge a service fee that depends on how fast you want your US ESTA:
- Standard Processing Time: 24 hours -USD 25.00.
- Rush Processing Time: 4 hours - USD 55.00.
- Super Rush Processing Time: 30 minutes - USD 75.00.

- Super Rush Processing: 30 minutes
How long is the US ESTA valid for?
The US ESTA is valid for 2 years after issued. It is a multiple entry visa and allows for a maximum stay of 90 days Per Entry.
Do my children need to apply for their own US ESTA?
Yes, accompanied and unaccompanied children (regardless of age) require their own ESTA prior to their travel to the U.S. Children listed on their parents' passport do not qualify for an ESTA. Children must have their own (unexpired) passport in order to qualify for an ESTA.
What can I do if I am denied for a US ESTA?
If your application for an ESTA is denied, you will be required to apply for a United States visitor visa, such as a B-2 Tourist Visa.
How soon before my arrival should I apply?
You should apply at least 3 days before your arrival. However, since the ESTA is valid for 2 years after issued, it is recommended that you apply as soon as you are able.
I hold dual nationality with Iran/Iraq/Sudan/Syria. Am I still eligible for a US ESTA?
Nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries who are also nationals of Iran, Iraq, Sudan, or Syria are NOT eligible for an ESTA.
In addition, nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries who have spent time in Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia and Yemen on or after March 1, 2011 are not eligible for an ESTA.
When will I have to re-apply for the US ESTA?
The US ESTA approvals will be granted for a period of 2 years after issued or until the applicant's passport expires, whichever comes first. The ESTA will show the applicable validity dates.
Does the US ESTA guarantee admission into the United States?
No. If your ESTA is approved, it only states that you are eligible to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, but does not guarantee that you will be granted entry into the United States. Upon arrival in the USA, you will be inspected by an immigration officer who will determine if you are admissible under the Visa Waiver Program and/or any other United States law.
Who is eligible to apply for the US ESTA?
Citizen/nationals of the following countries can apply for the ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Malta, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom.
