DOCUMENT OVERVIEW
The Egypt e-Visa is an official electronic document that allows nationals of 70 countries to enter Egypt for tourism or business purposes. The eVisa is valid for a 90 days after its issue date and it allows visitors to spend up to 30 days in total in the country. Egypt e-Visas are issued for single or multiple entries. In addition to the Egypt eVisa, you can also add the Egypt Declaration Form while completing the application form. Please note that the Declaration Form is a mandatory document to enter the country. The Egypt e-Visa is not required for visitors from the US, the EU, or the UK who are traveling to (and remaining in) Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba or Taba, provided their visit doesn't exceed 15 days. Israeli passport holders can also enter visa-free via Taba provided their visit doesn't exceed 15 days.

OBTAIN THE EGYPT EVISA
To apply for this travel document, you are required to provide personal information and details about your intended stay in Egypt. You will also need a confirmed flight ticket before submitting the form. If you are traveling with your children, they do not need a separate application.   • US RESIDENTS ONLY: To return to the US you’ll need to take a COVID-19 test the day before your entry date. Don’t waste time looking for a test lab in Egypt.   • Egypt e-Visas are issued for a Single Entry or Multiple Entry to people whose nationalities require visas to enter the country.

  • Your Egypt e-Visa is valid for 90 days after issued. The maximum stay in Egypt is 30 days in Total.

  • Children apply for a visa via their parents' online account.

  • A visa is required prior to entry into the Arab Republic of Egypt.

  • If you exceed the duration stay on the e-Visa without holding a residency permit, you may be required to pay fines, be deported, or otherwise forbidden from future travel to Egypt.

  • The Egypt e-Visa is not required for visitors from the US, the EU, or the UK who are traveling to (and remaining in) Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, and Taba. So long as their trip stays under 15 days they can travel visa-free.

  • Applicants must hold an ordinary passport valid for at least six months beyond their date of arrival in Egypt.

  • It is recommended that you have at least one blank page in your passport for an entry/exit stamp.

  • After the application has been submitted and approved, the traveler needs to print and carry at least one copy of the visa.

  • You will need to present your printed e-Visa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.

  • To enter the country, all unvaccinated travelers aged 7 years and older, including Egyptians, must show a printed negative COVID‑19 PCR test certificate from an accredited lab in English or Arabic taken within 72 hours before departure.

  • All PCR test results and vaccination certificates must have a QR code to be considered valid.

  • Unvaccinated passengers traveling from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Thailand, USA, Uruguay, Venezuela, London Heathrow, Paris, Rome and Frankfurt will be allowed to submit a test certificate a maximum of 96 hours before the flight time due to the long travel and transit periods from these airports.

  • Unvaccinated passengers traveling from Argentina, Bangladesh, Belize, Bhutan, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, India, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela or Vietnam must undergo PCR testing on arrival.

No, you don't. As of today, COVID vaccination passports or certificates are not a mandatory to enter Egypt. Now if you are a Covid vaccine certificate holder, you won't need to present a negative PCR test nor to follow a quarantine.

You will not need one if your transit time/layover will be less than 48 hours (you must show your onward flight ticket). Leaving the airport may be permitted but you will have to hand over your passport. You will need to inquire with your airline, as many offer short duration tours to their passengers with transit times/layovers between 6 and 48 hours.

If your transit time is less than 6 hours, you may leave the transit area, but not the airport.

The above DOES NOT apply to nationals of Iran (who always require a transit visa), Afghanistan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Philippines, who must remain in the transit area at all times.

  • Single entry only allows you to enter Egypt once, for a maximum duration of 90 days after issued

  • Multiple entries give you 2 or more entries within the visa validity period of 90 days after issued, with each stay being no more than 30 days Per Entry.

You must present the following documents upon your arrival in Egypt:

  • Passport valid for at least six months after the arrival date.
  • e-Visa printout.
  • Vaccination certificate with a QR code or a negative COVID-19 test result with a QR code.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Supporting letter, e.g. letter from company or invitation letter for business/family visits.
  • Hotel bookings/details about places you plan to visit if you’re going as a tourist.

You could browse the reviews online to see which guide is the best. You will not accompany one the entire trip, but a day or two is necessary. Just put some in your bag or backpack and rest assured that you do not have such issues as you explore the location. If you find yourself in Cairo, and almost all tourists go there when in Egypt, you should know that you can find Uber. Almost everyone rides Uber these days and Cairo is on the map. That is if you do not want to use the metro system. Plus, the fares are more than affordable and it is the ideal way to get around. In Egypt, there are a lot of places where you can buy all kinds of souvenirs. You can purchase small pyramids or a miniature Sphynx. Plus a whole lot other items. However, Egyptians like to haggle on almost everything. They have their fun even for a bottle of water at the corner store. Plus, if you do not have the skill, they win some extra cash. That is why you should always haggle. You can save some money, have some fun, and nobody will get offended for making an offer. At the same time, you need to be careful about scammers. There are plenty of it in Egypt. They will say or do anything just to get some money, which is why you should be aware and always be careful. Do not let yourself fooled. When you are packing, make sure that you take comfy shoes for your trip. You will walk a lot, and the weather is hot. You can wear flip-flops at times, but a pair of comfortable running shoes are the best choice. As for apparel, you should know that some places have rules that are best for you to follow. For example, if you are a woman visiting a mosque or other religious sights, you should always wear clothes that cover your knees. A headscarf is a must inside mosques. And you cannot enter one with your shoes on. As for men, even if the weather is nice, you cannot wear sleeveless shirts or gym apparel. Bikinis and beachwear are acceptable only at the resorts along the Red Sea. Taking a trip to Egypt may require some research before leaving, but you should easily get the hang of it.
